Register - Membership Terms

You are two steps away from becoming a member of iServ. First you must read everything on this page. It sets out what is currently available to members and sets out the rights and responsibilites you have as a member. Those rights and responsibilities take the form of an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) which can be altered by iServ at any time. The second step involves filling out the registration form which takes less than a minute.

Currently, reading content provided by iServ itself is normal content. Reading from and writing to the discussion forum is considered premium content and requires membership.

Your rights

You have the right to unrestricted access to member functions on iServ and you have the right to be treated fairly and equitably by other users in an environment which will be free of discrimination, harassment, intimidation and other forms of harassment. iServ's AUP endeavours to protect this environment by enforcing all aspects of the AUP at all times.

Your responsibilities

iServ has an undeniable and enviable reputation for providing clean, entertaining, factual and relevant news, current affairs and commentary. All users have a responsibility to ensure that debate and discussion on any subject is within keeping with the good name of iServ at all times. At no time may any user post a comment or other content which goes against what iServ strives to achieve as a community. Content that is, in the opinion of iServ, can be construed as defamatory, harassing, threatening or contains foul language will be either filtered automatically or edited manually by an administrator or appointed moderator.

All users agree that any decision to edit a contribution will be final and not subject to further correspondence. In iServ's opinion, any comment that was posted with the apparent intention of causing offence will be deleted. Any off-topic comment will also be subject to deletion.

Abuse

If contributions are edited or removed then a reason for the action will usually be given and the reason will be final. If any breach is serious, iServ will attempt to contact the user concerned with a warning message that repeat offences will be dealt with by account suspension/cancellation. A cancelled user will be considered banned from iServ and that user will not be entitled to open a new account for a time determined by iServ. Legal repercussions apply to anyone attempting to circumvent restrictions placed on them.

If you find offence with anything that is written by either the site's owner or another user then we offer a formal dispute resolution process. This is not the only way to resolve a grievance but is generally the quickest way to get a response to your concerns. Links to this service are in appropriate places on the site and are clearly marked.

You agree that:

  • You will abide by these conditions and the AUP,
  • You will accept that your use/misuse of iServ will be governed by the Terms of Use (TOS),
  • You will only supply true and accurate details in the application form,
  • You are either 18 years of age or older, or you have parental consent to use the Internet and
  • You will obey any instruction given from an iServ staff member.

By clicking the "I agree" link below it is considered that you agree, without conditions or reservations, to everything above in its entirety and that you have the capacity to honour the agreement. If you disagree with or do not have the capacity to comply in full with the above then you must click the "I do not agree" link.
